Week 8 [3/29/10]

Repeat script
Abstact elements of fencing > how blade bends scoring machines, etc don't rely on footage.
HW Thursday > New frames and boards made in .psd

Week 7 [3/22/10]

Tracking
> Color correction
> Constant element of contrast

> Cmd + option + F = fit clip to the composition's dimension
> Cmd + option + H = fit horizontally
> Cmd + option + G = fit vertically
Track Matte review
(Luma matte) -> see layers placement

Cmd + option + G = intepret footage main
Cmd + option + T = Time remap (keyframes at the end / beginning)
Option + Shift + + = expressions

Displacement map
Requires textures with movement

Has to be displaced against something (another layer) (modification of fx on top left)
The clip of the texture can be modified to have more contrast (adjust the levels of the texture clip) to cost more changes within the layer being displaced.
Compound Blur
> Same settings as Displacement map
> Change the horizontal / vertical displacement over time
Solids
> Modifications with effects (Curtains) to get it as a texture,

Check BB for hw.

Week 6 [3/8/10]

Animation > Track Motion
Motion Tracker > Options > Track by RGB / Luminance (best way to track > light&dark)/ Saturation (hardest to track)
Hit play (so the computer tracks the motion).
Attach Motion Target to an object
Apply X & Y convention**

Track position + rotation
Animation > Stabilize Motion
15 second public service announcement
Cat Stretch etc. *LIGHTING* Has to have enough contrast to be able to track.

Week 4 [2/22/10]

Shadows
> There has to be a light source / an object / an object to cast the shadow onto
> Make sure the cast shadow option is checked when creating a light

Camera
> Select Point of interest + position > will create a modifiable path for the camera (motions path)

> Cmd + / = bring object to layer 1 position
> Option + cmd + / = swap layer with selected imported items.

> Textures

3D
> Turn on collapse transformation in order to keep the properties in the main comp

HW: Get an invitation > animate (What / when / where) (Examples from title sequences)
RENDER IT OUT (sync to music)

Week 3 [2/8/10]

Coordinate to the beat (RPG OST?)
3D
> Scene lighting
> C for camera tools > rotate objects
> 3D only render 1 views

Camera
> Uses 28/35/50
> Depth of field property uses a lot of ram

Camera

Light

Shadows (Light with dropbox checked)

Parenting Camera to a null object reviewed (http://pudd3140.blogspot.com)
Lock the mask >

For creating strips > use opacity > make one strip > set multiple
> Cmd up / down > next layer
> Layer > Pre-compose > Shift + Cmd + C > Make the layer into a composition
> Alpha matte > strips > turn into a comp > alpha matte with jpgs (cats / buildings) > pre-compose again to get 1 precomp layer.
> Layer > Auto-orientation (Option + cmd + o)> auto-orient 2D objects against the camera.
Homework: Create a 15-30 second 3D scene > Cut things out in 3D > pan the camera around.
