Week 4 [2/22/10]

Shadows
> There has to be a light source / an object / an object to cast the shadow onto
> Make sure the cast shadow option is checked when creating a light



Camera
> Select Point of interest + position > will create a modifiable path for the camera (motions path)

> Cmd + / = bring object to layer 1 position
> Option + cmd + / = swap layer with selected imported items.

> Textures

3D
> Turn on collapse transformation in order to keep the properties in the main comp

HW: Get an invitation > animate (What / when / where) (Examples from title sequences)
RENDER IT OUT (sync to music)

Lock the mask >




For creating strips > use opacity > make one strip > set multiple
> Cmd up / down > next layer
> Layer > Pre-compose > Shift + Cmd + C > Make the layer into a composition
> Alpha matte > strips > turn into a comp > alpha matte with jpgs (cats / buildings) > pre-compose again to get 1 precomp layer.
> Layer > Auto-orientation (Option + cmd + o)> auto-orient 2D objects against the camera.
Homework: Create a 15-30 second 3D scene > Cut things out in 3D > pan the camera around.

Week 2 [2/1/10]

Sound effects > where to get

< > keys = zoom in / out composition
- + keys = zoom in / out timeline
> Shift + cmd + Y = edit existing solid properties.
> Cmd + d = duplicate layer
> Option + cmd + k = keyframe interpolation (property has to be selected)

> Option + drag last / first keyframe = scaled keyframes evenly
Graphs (Value)
> Red line = y-axis
> Yellow line = x-axis

> White line shows overall movement + quickness

Mask review
> Go into layer > mask

Hide locked masks

Bouncing ball

Separate the dimensions

Alt + option + k > change to keyframes interpolation to linear
use Convert Vertex tool to edit the keyframes
